Maggie Valley itself hosts a variety of popular locations and activities such as skiing and snowboarding at the Cataloochee Ski Area, tubing at Tube World. For golfers, golfing at the Maggie Valley Country Club or at the Lake Junaluska Golf Course are both located nearby. Maggie Valley is surrounded by its beautiful mountains, lakes, waterfalls, with miles and miles of hiking trails and gorgeous scenery. Waynesville, just a few miles east of Maggie Valley has a historic downtown area with fine shops, galleries, antiques shops, cafes and restaurants, has tree-lined brick sidewalks, and offers many popular events throughout the year. Further west, the City of Asheville is home to the Biltmore Estate, America’s Largest Home. It has 250 rooms on 8,000 acres of grounds of forested trails, rivers, and spectacular gardens.
